It seems as if Drake is taking a few lessons from Beyonce.
After the queen of R&B surprised many people last year with a surprise album many artists have embraced the trend and the latest musician to copy Beyonce is non-other than Toronto’s finest Drake.
Early Friday morning the Grammy award winner surprised his fans by releasing an album titled “If You Are Reading This It’s Too Late” on iTunes.
The new album by the celebrated rap artist includes 17 tracks and features artists such Travi$ Scott, PartyNextDoor and Lil Wayne.
Drake’s surprise album release comes a year after the queen of R&B, Beyonce surprised her fans by releasing her self-titled album on iTunes without making any formal announcements. The album in itself outperformed expectations set by many critics who were also taken by surprise. In addition to that the album which was self-titled helped cement the R&B signer’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
The talented rapper from Toronto has given us several hits since joining Lil Wayne’s young money crew. Some of the hits which have made the rapper to gain worldwide recognition include “Take Care” which she did featuring Rihanna, “Best I Ever Had” (a single which was in his first mixtape) and recently “Started from the bottom” which basically broke several records on the chart.
In terms of album Drake has released a number of them including his 2013 “Nothing Was The Same Album,” this was Drakes third studio album and it went on to sell more than 650,000 units in its first week.
